2006 Comerica TasteFest -2nd Ave Street Market

Knit the community together at City Knits’ booth.  Learn to knit or help make blankies for COTS tots at our knitting circle throughout the festival.

Our custom knitting circle was specially designed for out-door use; think park bench meets knitting circle.

City Knits is also open in the concourse level of the Fisher Building.

If the thought of going to a gym or group exercise class appalls you, then Punk Fitness is for you!

It is all about doing the fitness thing,  DETROIT STYLE! Punk Fitness will be joining the Comerica TasteFest this year with demonstrations on the New Center Park Stage.

Punk Fitness is a REAL workout taught in an interval training format, alternating between muscle sculpting and cardio...sorry folks, no dancey health club choreography here, instead for cardio it is skank, pogo, jump rope or hula hoop.

Most of the soundtrack is provided by local Detroit bands (some of which will be featured at the Comerica TasteFest) including great indie, alternative & classic punk.

A TASTE OF ART
This year Detroit’s 4731 Gallery will be featuring a group show in the 2nd AVE Street Market gallery located off 2nd AVE inside the Fisher Building lobby.  Named “Best Arts Building in the City" by the Detroit Free Press, 4731 Grand River began as a couple of studios and a place for artists to hang out.  It has since morphed into a true “arts” incubator and currently includes 7 buildings, 2 galleries, 50 artist studios, workshops and a common meeting space.  Their focus is on growing arts-related businesses in an environment that welcomes collaboration.  313.894.4731  www.4731.com
