For The Love Of Mojo: A Tribute to the Electrifying Mojo featuring Rick Wilhite, Marc Duncan, Kenny Dixon Jr. and Carl Craig
Curator Carl Craig
The Electrifying Mojo (aka Charles
Johnson) was the ultimate voice of Detroit radio during the ‘70s
thru the ‘90s. His nightly musical journeys to the far
reaches of the musical galaxy on WGPR and WJLB introduced a
plethora of diverse artists such as Prince, B-52s and Kraftwerk
to local listeners and united a community of music lovers he
dubbed the Midnight Funk Association. He introduced techno
to the masses and became a cultural phenomenon and legend of the
airwaves. Four Detroit DJs, who are legends in their own
right, pay tribute to Mojo with this special performance.
Will the members of the Midnight Funk Association please rise
again |
